Mommy Rantings Giveaway & More

So I was notified by the lovely Ms. Bethany about this wonderful giveaway she's having on her website and I wanted to share it with you guys! She, along with Reader's Digest, is giving one lucky person four books! Three are based on Disney's new movie called TANGLED and the other is based on the other Disney Princesses. I know your daughter(s) would love this gift if you won correct?! If you have the time to enter today or tomorrow or ANYTIME BEFORE THE CONTEST IS OVER, I suggest you do so right now!

IN OTHER NEWS: Beautiful Biracial's new readjusted, modified, and remodeled website will be open on DECEMBER 1ST! I could've opened it earlier, but I wanted to wait until the Whip My Hair contest was over, which is on the 30th! In addition to the website being opened, we will be starting our December/Christmas giveaway which is going to be BANANAS! The prizes will be wrapped in CHRISTMAS WRAPPING and there will be items for both mommy, daughter, & family to enjoy! Hope you guys participate!

And as far as the WMH contest goes, have you guys seen the polls lately? A couple of days ago it stopped being a competition between all 9 contests to being a competition between 2 contestants, their votes are in the 400s! I honestly never expected an amount to get that high and I feel bad for the other contestants. :( But still, whoever has the most votes on Nov 30th WINS!

Other than that, since voting has started, BB.Com has received over a massive amounts of traffic. Since November 21st, we went from 8000+ to 12000. The voting page has over 2000 hits alone. That's crazy right?! I think that's all for now. We had a great Thanksgiving and through it all, trying to maintain this site and working 40+ hours a week, the only thing I can do is thank God to see another day!

Happy Thanksgivings Hair!

I did my daughter's hair last night for Thanksgiving and it turned out great! This was the first time I ever done twists to her scalp. This hairstyle took a total time of an hour and a half and I used my usual products. As far as accessories, I used 4 hair ballies, multicolored hair barrettes, and rubberbands. I also put two strand twists in her ponytails.

Hope you guys have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Assortment of Pink Beads on Two Strand Twists

I'm not going to go into detail on how I acheive this look because it's pretty basic (and frankly, I don't have the time right now). I simply, parted it from ear to ear, put the back section in individual two strand twists and put three beads on the end and put the top section in two pony tails and put individual two strand twists with three beads on the end! This hairstyle took about an hour and a  half to do.
The rest of the pictures for today you can find on FACEBOOK! Add us here! If you've noticed, I've been doing a lot of ponytail hairstyling lately. That's because I'm getting a lot of 'new moms' visitors and not everyone knows how to braid good or what have you, so I'm supplying them with easy to do hairstyles this month. Plus, Princess said she's getting tired of braids, lol. Sighs.

Everyone meet 'Miss D.'! I braided her hair into an intricate design. I won't be able to show you guys how I did it, because I do not do that with clients. (Time management.) Her and her mom was very pleased with the outcome though.

Beautiful Biracial Charity

Christmas is coming up and we all know 'tis is the season for giving.' Anyone who personally knows me knows I am a BIG advocate on feeding and helping the homeless. If I have it to give, I will give it. One of my dreams is to open up a homeless shelter that not only gives these people who are experiencing these unfortunate events a place to live, but help them better themselves to go back to school or find employment!

Since I can't start off by doing it big, I can start by doing SOMETHING! I am happy to have this site to get my views across because I really want to help people. So with that said, if you would like to give a donation of any amount that you would like to give via Paypal, I would definitely appreciate it!

Half of the proceeds will go towards purchasing can food, boxed items, and other essentials for the hungry! The other half will go towards purchasing toys for the children for Christmas. We will be keeping track of the money coming in and updating you guys every week until December 20th!

In appreciation, we will send you a THANK YOU CARD to the shipping address on your paypal account! THANKS and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Announcements & Updates

If you've gotten here via my actual domain name BeautifulBiracial.Com (meaning you clicked that link and had to click the link posted on that page) does mean something! This website will be moved from Blogspot to an actual hosting site. I am looking to expand my website, making it one of or even the largest children's hair weblog/website on the internet! I will be looking for people to help and run sites if they have experience. Some things you won't need to have experience in. I'm going to get the 'careers' site up before the actual site.

Besides having your chance to become apart of the BB Team, we will have forums, a group weblog for mommies, provide hosting, and more! I am looking forward to launching the website between January 01, 2011 and February, 01, 2011! Until then, I will still be posting here on blogspot and updating you guys with the latest hairstyles and of course, more site news!

P.S. I need one of my visitors named LATOYA to please check your MSN email! I need confirmation on something! Thank you!

ONLINE SPOTLIGHT: Mommy Rantings

Click on image to visit her site!
So recently, like maybe a couple of days ago...or yesterday, whatever, I have a bad memory, I stumbled across this site! I was immediately in love because of Bethany's relatable posts!! She talks and posts about a lot of things mommy related! If you're on this site, you're OBVIOUSLY  a mommy, so I'm sure you can definitely agree with a lot of things she goes through!

I haven't read a lot of things on her site yet, but I know it is a site I WILL BE VISITING AGAIN AND AGAIN! Who doesn't want to visit a site where you can participate and even enter in giveaways! Yep, Bethany is having a holiday giveaway on her site and you should enter it right now!

I got a chance to speak to Bethany via email and she left me some nice comments about my site, which made me smile from ear to ear! I'm honored to have her visit my site daily and I'm sure she feels the same about me! If you visit her site and enter in her giveaways, you can definitely get the same warm welcome I did! She loves to network too. As mommies, we can all help each other and network in the same breath, because remember, Mommy & Multitasking goes together like peanut butter and jelly!

MOMMY OUTLOOK: Sweet Deals!

I went to The Dollar Tree looking for an address book and ran into something else...their hair accessory section! I was amazed to see that the things that they were selling, I would want to buy! Since they didn't have price tags on/near the items, I can't tell you the price, but for the simple fact that it was at the Dollar Tree, I'm sure they were inexpensive!

If you have a Dollar Tree store in your area, get over there and check out their hair accessories! They even have character accessories such as Disney Princesses & Dora The Explorer! I'm sure your girls would love that!

PRODUCT REVIEWS: Just For Me! Hair Milk Straightening Mist

JUST FOR ME! HAIR MILK STRAIGHTENING MIST

MISSION: Detangles & protects from heat.

DIRECTIONS: Shake well. Spray hair milk straightening mist directly into wet or dry tangled hair. Allow formula to soften hair before combing.

INGREDIENTS: Water (Aqua, Eau), Amodimethicone Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, PEG-12 Dimethicone, PVP, Fragrance (Parfum), Polysorbate 20, DMDM Hydantoin, Centrimonium Chloride, Trideceth-12, Benzophenone-4, Hexyl Cinnamal, Triethanolamine, Disodium EDTA, Benzyl Salicylate, Limonene, Coumarin, Linalool, Soymilk, Honey (Mel, Mel), Hydrolyzed Silk, Sorbitol, tocopheryl Acetate, Panthenol, Ascorbic Acid, Sambucus Nigra Flower Extract, Primula Veris Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Extract, Chamomila Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Ferric Citrate, Copper Gluconate, Calcium Chloride, Niacinaminde, Biotin, Potassium chloride, Lactic Acid

REVIEWS: People have been asking me have I tried the JUST FOR ME! HAIR MILK COLLECTION on my daughter's hair and I can honestly say I haven't. I just tried the hair milk straightening mist. I hadn't read any reviews on it before I bought it..because I didn't even know it even existed! I was in Wal-Mart shopping one day, in the health & beauty department looking for God knows what and the collection did catch my eye. The white & pink colors of the collection caught my attention. I quickly glanced at the different products (and the price of course) to see what it was all about. I think if it was another brand, I wouldn't have gave it a second look, but just for the fact that I've been using Just For Me! perms and pink lotion since I was little made me take interest in it.

Since there were four different type of products in the collection and they were all $4.99 each, I quickly decided in my head that I wanted to try all of them on my daughter's hair. That notion quickly vanished when another thought popped in my head, 'I don't want to spend $20 and then don't like the stuff!' AHHH! What to do?! So what did I do? I picked the product out of the collection that I would probably like to try most and if I liked it, then I would come back and get the rest of the collection.

Before actually purchasing the product, I probably walked around the store for 15 minutes debating if I wanted to spend $5 on it. I'm so freakin frugal that it's crazy, lol. I will say though, if I KNOW the product will work then I don't have a problem buying it.

After making the purchase, I immediately went home and tried it on my daughter's hair. I had never used a detangler before, so I was excited to see how it would work. To my shock, it worked fantastically well. I was sold and couldn't wait to try the collection. It smelled nice and worked great..to me at least. One weekend I took her to her godmother's house and she used it and told me I should keep buying this stuff!

I never did go get the rest of the collection and I never did have a problem with the straightening mist until I came across the JUST FOR ME! 2-In-1 Conditioning Detangler. It's cheaper and it works way better! You can read the review here! I've read reviews on the collection as a whole the past few days and I tell ya, people were not satisfied, so I'm happy I didn't spend my money. Maybe you shouldn't either!

Ponytail Connectors With Three Strand Twists

I know, I know, I am getting out of hand with using three strand twists in hairstyles, but I can't help it! I do them so well! I mentioned on Facebook last night that I was going to do a video on extreme three strand twisting. I'm sure you're probably wondering what in the heck is that, but it's where I tst REALLY FAST! I'll probably have that video posted next week!

Anyhoo, I'm sure you're wondering about this Ponytail Connector style that I have brought upon to you today. It's where I put an array of ponytails in her head, and connected them to four ponytails. This style took about an hour & a half to do..due to me not knowing what direction I wanted to go in at first. I used my normal products: water, HEHH conditioning detangler, BB Oil Moisturizer, & Kids Organics Gro Strong...

This is the left side of her hair with about 6 ponytails going down her head in a row. I used Belle's Ouchless Bands to wrap around her hair.

After adding all the ponytails, which came out to twelve, this is how it looked. You guys see my random zig zag in the front? I was supposed to have the whole line from front to back going in zig zags, but PARTING IS A CHALLENGE FOR ME! Parting actually takes up most of my time during styling because it takes so long to get it right! :(

I separated the four front ponytails and put them into two bigger ponytails (one on each side) then wrapped the hair into each other going down until it got to the last ponytail. I wrapped another ouchless band around them and put two hair ballies on the ponytail. Each ponytail in the back has four three strand twists!

Don't mind that sourpuss look on Princess's face. She was sour because she had to stop playing her game to take a picture, lol, but I digress. The two front ponytails were done just like the back. Two hair ballies wrapped around them with four three strand twists each!

Here's a sideview. You can see where the ponytails are connected and how it's going into one big twist!

I've been getting a lot of questions to which I will be posting along with the answers in the ASK ME section of the site. Since I've been of assistance to them, I hope I could be of some assistance to you!! Moving along, as I usually do, Princess had a teeny tiny amatuer photoshoot with her new hairstyle! Check it out!

Slanted Tails: A Ponytail Hair Ballie Story

Ahaha, yall like that title? Anyways, yes, we have a new hairstyle!! I decided to put ponytails in her hair because braiding today was not an option. I just didn't feel like it. Here's her new hairstyle. Slanted ponytails.

This hairstyle took about 45 minutes. I used Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Conditioner, Soft & Beautiful Just For Me! 2-In-1 Conditioning Detangler, BB Oil Moisturizer and water. As you see, I used hair ballies even on the ends of her hair. I honestly didn't feel like searching her barrette bin looking for purple, lol.

I parted the back, sprayed water and the conditioning detangler and combed through it. As you can see in the pictures, the product makes an IMMENSE difference in how shiny her hair is. I hadn't even used anything else besides water and the detangler and the shine went from 1 to 100. Like I said earlier, I used hair ballies on the end because it stretches the hair. I took the picture so you can see the difference. If I put a barrette on the end, it would've curled right back up and the length would've been shorter.

With the middle portion of her head, I slanted her ponytails. The left side is how it looks from one point of view and the right side is from the other point. When you lift the ponytails up, you can actually tell it's slanted, lol.

Btw, those are two strand twists. Anyways, tomorrow is a special day for BeautifulBiracial.Com. You'll have to tune in to see what it is!!

REVIEW: I've been using BB Oil Moisturizer for years, even before I had my daughter. I use it on my hair, my sister uses it, my mom even uses it, so I wouldn't be lying if I said this product was good! Now that I do have my daughter, I definitely use it on her hair. Mommy Is My BFF!

As Told By Princess:

Yesterday, my granddaddy came and picked up me, my mommy, and my little brother and we went to the mall! When we got to the mall we ride and ride and ride and ride again. And then we, uhm, ride again and that was it and then I was riding on there and then we did two times. We ride on the train, the thing, the motorcycle, and the truck, and the fire truck and that's it. After that we taked a picture right by the deers and the christmas tree. And then we touched the christmas tree and the snow. Then we went to the store and got some clothes. After we left the mall, we went to Wendy's. I had hamburger and french fries and I drank Sprite and then granddaddy opened my toy! When we left Wendy's, we went to my great grandmother's house and then we went back home and that's it!!

Me riding on the firetruck.
Me riding on the train!

We made 7 fan photos for 7 of our Facebook friends! If you'd like a fan photo, just add us on Facebook and comment on the FAN PHOTOS album!!

Beads, Braids, & Bun 2

This is my daughter's newest hairstyle! Beads, braids, and a bun!!!. I did an almost similar hairstyle before (click here), but this time I decided to do things a little differently and have her whole head braided. This hairstyle took a whopping total of 5 1/2 hours to do! Don't forget, we do have to consider the length of her hair. We went to the hairstore earlier yesterday and she picked out these different shades of purple beads! One thousands beads for $3.49! Not bad, right?

I used water, BB Oil Moisturizer (for shine), Kids Organic Gro Strong Triple Action Stimulating Therapy (to reduce frizziness), Herbal Essences Hello Hydration conditioner (for softness), and Soft & Beautiful Just For Me! 2-in-1 Conditioning Detangler (to help detangle, of course). As always, I pour BB Oil Moisturizer and HEHH Conditioner on a napkin and mix it together.

STEP ONE: I parted the back from ear to ear. I detangled it and combed through it! Don't mind that spare braid, I had another hairstyle in mind before I got to the end results.

STEP TWO: I parted three rows and individually braided her hair in strands. I then applied the multicolored purple beads, putting 15 on each braid strand. The end result of that looked like this!

STEP THREE: I made a small part at the top of her head and a short part at the back of her head so I can have a start and stopping point. This was my first time doing this, so I wasn't really sure how people braid in a ponytail. For extra measure, I braided a strand down and put beads on end. I call it My Alicia Keys Braid. LOL.

STEP FOUR: I braided the other side from the part at the top to the part to the back around her head. After I was done braiding, I took an ouchless band and wrapped her hair in a ponytail so I could apply the bun.

STEP FIVE: Applying the bun. I pulled her hair through the hole of the sock bun and evenly spread her hair out over the sock. Next, I wrapped the hair under the sock bun in a circle, twisted the loose end, and continued to wrap it in a circular motion and then secured it with a bobby pin and another ouchless band. THE END!!

Even though it was almost 1130pm when I got finished with Princess's hair, she still looked like she was ready to step out into the night and shut everything down!!
